Activities 2008 - confidence and growth
Fun Run in aid of Emmanuel Kussis School in Ghana

A big thanks to Christina Gallagher who completed a fun run on behalf of the Vineyard Acedemy Complex in Ghana, and to those who supported her in Kensington Liverpool.

The funds will be used to buy much needed water containers for the Academies agricultural training modules.

Metal Box Charity event. Rotaract Charter night in support of local charity (‘A friend Like Ben ~ Nowak’s Sporting Chance’) … 28th March. Click here for background information.

Our family has set up a registered charity, ‘A friend Like Ben ~ Nowak’s Sporting Chance’ (1121405) as Ben’s death has left a gaping hole in our lives; our aim is to ensure that his legacy continues.

The focus of the charity is to try to make a difference in an area where financial hardship in a family can result in children being unable to fully participate in sports or leisure activities. We welcome applications from sporting groups and organisations within the South Liverpool area, for funding which we have limited to a maximum of £200.00 per application during our first year as a registered charity. We have already assisted in buying uniforms for majorettes and football kits for a number of youth clubs, helped with transport costs and even provided refreshments for a young boys boxing club so that they are able to start their own enterprise of a tuck shop to increase their income.

We do not wish to limit the applications to football or boxing clubs, our aim is to assist all types of organisations regardless of the age or gender of the members. In conjunction with assisting these types of sporting clubs, our aspiration is to develop the charity so that, when funds allow, we would be in a position to offer a bursary, in Ben’s name, to gifted local youngsters regardless of their chosen sporting activity to enable them to train without the burden of financial pressure.
