2004/2005: Schools have agreed to undertake SIGNAL as their social enterprise project. SIGNAL was first delivered in July 2002 and may be viewed in the projects area of the schools interactive main site.

SIGNAL works by engaging local communities and volunteers in delivering school centered citizenship activity. By attaching National Curriculum lessons through 'excellence and enjoyment' i.e. music, art, dance, drama, sport and IT focused activity and celebrating the children's work within this, social enterprise outcomes may be realized. The SIGNAL process was initiated and developed by John Patterson of Liverpool Hope University College.

SIGNAL may be delivered in a micro or macro manner i.e. a school or a cluster of schools. The 04/05 Enterprise Schools will be delivering their social enterprise through the medium of music - a music CD will be collated to celebrate the children's work which will be sold for a profit. Profits will be distributed across named local and international charities.

FEBRUARY and March SIGNAL activity: The 04 05 schools will receive a citizenship assembly by Bill Bygroves of Liverpool Football Club. Bill will leave each school with a 'Truth For Youth' message which will become the theme for two weeks of classroom based educational excellence. This will include workshops by local SME's , Hope University College students, Community Police Officers, Dark Horse Venture and Liverpool Exchange Rotary volunteers. This will culminate in the generation of a song with each school supporting the citizenship message. The songs will be collated on a CD for sale. Liverpool Exchange Rotarians will oversee the distribution of all profits to four named local and international charities. The children involved will come together to celebrate their work on 10th March at the Liverpool Lighthouse. This will include the playing of a key message for the children involved from Sir Cliff Richard. This event will be filmed and will be screened on the 'big screen' in Liverpool City Centre with the assistance of BBC Radio Merseyside.
