WORKSHOPS

GOSPEL CHOIR WORKSHOP: Discovering the origins of Gospel singing and studying the songs in the way they up lift people, by singing and writing songs. (Half day) (Charge)

SONG IN A DAY 'SAID': The pupils will be engaged in writing, performing, recording and mastering their own music. They will create their own CD sleeve using IT and will be left with a copy each.

COLLECTIVE: A Christian pop band who combine music, Faith and Testimonies to take RE lessons into schools throughout the week. On the Friday a big after school concert is performed. The team is made up of singers and dancers therefore music lessons can also be taken. (Charge)

SUPERLAMBANANA ART/I.T. WORKSHOP: Studying public works of art, and the Internet, children will make their own creation of the Superlambanana theme. Cross - curricular work undertaken will be celebrated online. The school will be left with all the materials as a powerful display. (Half day) (Charge)

FAITH AND GRACE PUPPETS WORKSHOP: A program containing many different messages in a way that today's society can relate to. With the use of puppets this workshop adapts scripts and stories to suit any age group and is great fun. (Half day) (Charge)

MASK MAKING: Teachers can choose from three themes: Brazilian and Venetian masks, African and Asian masks and spooky masks. Pupils will have an insight into the design and materials used to create masks via a PowerPoint. Using a plastic mask as a base and a wide range of paints and materials, children will create their own masks. These can be used for display purposes or for dance or drama. (Charge)

MARTIAL ARTS AND GYMNASTICS WORSHOP: These disciplines are combined as a dance to create a performance. Taking the beautiful moves from martial arts and the amazing limits of gymnastics and combine them as a dance to create a performance that will be made into a short exciting film. (Full day). GAMES WORKSHOP: Class can choose from a group of games that are new to primary schools i.e. primary lacrosse, hockey, American baseball, archery, badminton .Each class will have a 60 minute workshop in their chosen sport. (Charge)

A PLAY IN A DAY: Schools can choose their own theme for the play/assembly - bullying, healthy eating, the environment etc. Throughout the day classes or groups from each class will work on different parts of the presentation; music, dance, drama. There will be a wide variety of music technology, masks, and costumes available, to make the event totally professional. This would be a great opportunity to involve parents, not only in the creation of the play, but also as an audience. (Charge)

WORLD ADVENTURE DAY WORKSHOP: Looking at a certain part of the world and discovering aspects of the countries such as the food they eat, the clothes they wear, the language they speak and the songs they sing.

ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION WORKSHOP: ECO Ed. 'Green' workshops to full themed garden generation….use your school grounds to great effect. (Charge)

NEWSPAPER DAY WORKSHOP: Pupils will be engaged as reporters for the day. Literacy, numeracy and IT skills will be enhanced and challenged as a full front - page newspaper will be created. The school will be left with this work as a further display. Work generated will be celebrated online.

JOURNALIST WORKSHOP - The News at Six. Pupils discuss a wide range of news stories from The BBC'S Newsround programme. Children will write a 'real' and a 'fantasy' news item which they will read in a mock BBC news studio. They will have the opportunity to use a range of glasses, rings, beards etc, so they can create a newscaster character. The event will be filmed directly onto a CD and left with the class. They can then watch their programme on the television, computer or Smartboard. (Charge)

ROBOTICS WORKSHOP: Class will be introduced to a wide range of robotic technology, from lap top controlled robots to the Sony Aibo RES 220OA robotic dog. All pupils will have the opportunity to have 'hands-on' experience with all the different types of robots. In the full-day workshop pupils can work in groups to make their own robots. SPOOKY POETRY: An animated PowerPoint will be used to show the pupils a wide variety of spooky poetry. The class will be introduced to the latest music technology. The Digitech Vocoder, Kaos Pad and Korg Microsynth. These can be used to change voices and to introduce a musical 'backcloth' and atmosphere to the poems. Children are then given a framework and vocabulary so they can write their own poems. In a full-day session pupils will make a spooky mask to go with their poems. This makes a great display for the classroom. (Charge)

NB: The school may wish to expand any of the above workshops into longer running projects in their own right (such as the music workshop mini - enterprise).

ASSEMBLIES

The school may choose from a range of interactive multimedia PSHE/ citizenship/ literacy/ numeracy assemblies based around the message of "Hope and Choices". (Free)

LFC, "The five messages" Assembly. Bill Bygroves and members of the Liverpool Football Club coaching team provide children with five messages to promote citizenship. (E Mail request to Schools Interactive , which will be passed to Bill Bygroves). (Free)

Faith and Grace Puppet Assemblies. Making story time fun and interesting by using different puppets to convey the story. (Free)

Interactive assemblies. Using a variety of ways to portray any chosen subject in support of school development plan. (Free)
